New Jersey Travel Guide
New Jersey is just south of New York, just 'cross the river to the Jersey side' as Jersey born Bruce Springsteen sings. One of the state’s most treasured prizes is its 127 miles (204km) of sandy beaches along the Atlantic coast, lined with many holiday resorts, bustling boardwalks and quaint seaside towns that draw thousands of tourists to enjoy the sun, surf and excitement of the famous Jersey Shore. Newark is New Jersey's largest city and features the famous Newark Museum. Also in the Newark Gateway area is Jersey City - a worthwhile diversion here is Liberty State Park. Amble the many amusement piers of the Jersey Shore, or enjoy the serenity of the shoreline such as at Sunset Beach at Cape May.
The state has a lot of things to explore: A big part of the Apalachian trail, the Delaware Water Gap, an exciting coast with Atlantic City - the gambling capital of the East Coast - and Great Egg Harbor as two very diverse highlights.
Trenton the capital is located right in the centre of the state and is a good base for exploring the region.
In West Orange you can visit the old laboratory of Thomas Edison whose inventions changed the lives of millions of people all over the world.
